Summary:
The webinar will explain in detail the main aspects of the Innovation Challenge, what are the three categories and how to submit an entry to the competition.
The Innovation Challenge is open to solutions and technologies applicable to any maritime industry or infrastructure that may be affected by biofouling, including all types of ships, port infrastructure, aquaculture, offshore oil and gas, ocean renewable energies, scientific and communications instruments and ocean dredging. The competition will also consider solutions that may be less mature but have strong potential for creating real innovation breakthroughs.
Proposals will be shortlisted by a panel of experts on biofouling, with a view to participate in a pitchfest event to be organized during Sustainable Ocean Summit in October 2022, with representatives from the investment community.
Additionally, multiple candidates and solutions addressing biofouling, will also be compiled and profiled on TOOL as "Solutions to watch" within each of the 3 categories. Candidates and proposals from “Solutions to watch” may be offered mentoring or other supporting resources from the challenge partners, aiming to strengthen the impact of the competition by enabling candidates to connect with dedicated innovation and growth specialists, or for building clear, compelling and credible investment propositions
